Crispin Thump is an artists' collective, providing original soundtracks for film, television, and commercials. We also write and produce music for emerging artists within New York's vibrant music scene.
We challenged the model of the traditional 'music house' by creating a dynamic and responsive team that's more in tune with what's going on at the artistic level. Our team is highly sensitive to the needs of producers, directors, editors and creative directors that are fundamental to a successful collaboration.
Augustus Skinner has been making music professionally for over 17 years. He spent 10 years as a composer at a leading 'music house' in London and New York, and prior to that he recorded and mixed music at some of London's most prestigious recording studios. He has mixed records for EMF, Neneh Cherry, Level 42, East 17, Underworld, and Sneaker Pimps among many others. He now uses his accumulated knowledge to compose, and to produce music for Crispin Thump.
Ronan Coleman co-founded the avant-garde funk-rock band 'The Malchicks' in the early 90s that performed on Irish national radio and television and played to packed houses on the national circuit. A graduate of the Irish Royal College of Music, he began writing music for commercials in 1994 and has had many successful campaigns, including Apple computer, Jameson whiskey, Lufthansa airlines, Smirnoff vodka, and the European Environmental Agency. Ronan also scores music for TV and film; his many credits include "Last Days On Earth" (ABC), "Far Away Up Close" (Dir: Kim Bartley), "Jamaica's Rising Stars," and the award-winning "Hoodwink"(Dir: Adam Feinstein).
In 2006 Ronan met Augustus. Together they use their vision and experience to insure that every project that comes through Crispin Thump is honed to the most exacting musical standards. Our collective covers a huge spectrum of writers and artists, some of whom are well known, others less so; each bringing their own unique style and specialization into the mix. We respect talent and nurture creativity. New artists are our future, by working together we create new opportunities and contribute to a vibrant, ever changing music scene.
